ASTEROIDS CYLLARUS AND HYLONOME #52975 #10370

Picture
Cyllarus #52975 and Hylonome #10370 were a married Centaur couple who were very much in love. Hylonome is unusual in that she is the only female Centaur ever specifically mentioned in mythology. Together these two roamed the hills and valleys, enjoying each other's company and wanting only to bask in the beauty of their very real connection. Cyllarus was a brave and exceedingly handsome Centaur. Hylonome was equal in beauty and although it is stated in mythology that Cyllarus, the Alpha male of the Centaurs- could have his pick of females, he was happy to be only truly attached to his beloved Hylonome.

This pair of horse humans were together whenever they could be and so close were they, that when you thought of one, you immediately thought of the other. These two lovers assumed they would spend all the days of their lives together until a sad tragedy struck.

Cyllarus and Hylonome were invited to attend the wedding of Pertihous the Lapith, where wine was served. Alcohol and Centaurs did not mix. Known to cause Centaurs to become wild and rambunctious, alcohol was a man/horse no-no. Soon after the reception began and the drink was consumed, a fight broke out among the eclectic guests. Cyllarus was struck with a spear and pierced fully through the chest.

Hylonome, shocked and overcome by grief at seeing her most precious person lying injured so severely, desperately tried to keep her lover with her, ardently begging him to remain in his earthly form while sealing her lips to his and attempting to stay his soul. She could not. All her energy of spirit could not save her sweet husband from the clutches of a sudden and horrifying death.

As the last subtle whispers of life left her sweethearts body, Hylonome spontaneously threw her own self onto the very same spear that had murdered her dear husband, and she too was dead.

This asteroid represents Impulsively giving into grief. Where we are prone to panic when love threatens to flee. Going from the ideal to total loss. Where we are so attached to something or someone that we lose all reason. Hylonome impulsively committed suicide. She took no consideration for her future, paid no attention to the fact that life could indeed go on for her, even without what she loved most. Hylonome was in love but she was also short sighted. This asteroid has a very black and white nature to it. I equate this asteroid with both irrational devotion and with the fear of feeling and/or of dealing with deep grief or loss. How we deal with the prospect of being alone is also a big part of Hylonome.

Cyllarus is associated with going to bat for your side, often without thinking it through. Where we impulsively lay it on the line or take a risk. Cyllarus can point to where we defend someone or something without thinking it through first.

These two asteroids don't often aspect each other. When there is an aspect in synastry, we see the themes love and loss, attachment and desperate devotion play out between a couple.

Hylonome in synastry shows devotion that is often over the top or truly complete. The urge to give it all for another's attention. Willing to die or give something dear to us up for the other so they can find their rightful place in the world.

Cyllarus in synastry points to where we may be either too quick to act or react, or measured in our actions, depending on how aspected.

Dear Jewel,
I have read about these asteroids just now for the first time.
I quickly checked them through astrodienst with my love interest with whom we have a very special connection I cannot describe with words, also very complex.
We have a double whammy between these asteroids his cyllarus quincunx exact my hylonome, and his hylonome quincunx exact my cyllarus.
Does this mean something? Thank you
