There are few asteroids in astrology that carry more weight or have such influence and force than asteroid Kaali. This fascinating asteroid represents the Hindu Goddess of both personal destruction and life affirming energy. As far as asteroids are concerned, she is a major player in the birth chart. Kaali is complex, dangerous, beautiful, compulsory, wise, cruel and necessary.
Kali is the partner of Shiva (asteroid Siva) who created mass and the everything of the universe in its static state. Siva is the male divine creator and destroyer. Kaali is the divine feminine creator and destroyer. Kaali is the the Shakti; the feminine creative power that gives life to the mass created by Shiva. She is the energy sent forth that MAKES THINGS HAPPEN. Shiva creates and puts the ingredients for existence together, but it is Kaali who energetically stirs the secret recipes to make something tangible come of it. Siva cannot be successful without Kaali, for mass cannot retain its form unless energy is present, and Kaali has no purpose without Siva. It is a reciprocal relationship.
The fabric of reality is the domain of Siva, but the energy behind reality, the impotence to DO, this is the realm of Kaali. The will and desires of an individual is the basis for what one chooses to pursue. I equate Kaali strongly with free will. Kaali herself knows no right or wrong for she has no judgements. She lives in shades of grey. Because she rules the energy behind reality, she rules consciousness.
This Goddess has no judgment of right or wrong, an experience just is and so requires a high amount of moral ethics when putting her to conscious use. Her power acts in accordance with judgement and will and so the intent with which she is used is everything. The context of Kaali is critical.
Our uniquely individual perception of reality informs our judgments and experiences in the world and provides the accepted paradigm from which we function. Perception is everything when it comes to making sense of the stimulus around us. Perception is the enemy of Kaali. Kaali existed with Siva in the emptiness of all, the universe before the universe and is also the is the Dark Side Energy of the Divine Feminine Consciousness. Making peace with her, using her wisely, having her take hold of you but not being controlled by her, these are the ways in which we meet and master Kaali. The dark energy of this Goddess can be used constructively to bring great things into the world if she is recognized, tamed and subdued correctly. Our experience of her, depends on how we perceive her, and our connected free will.
This is also the Goddess who rules Kundalini. The coiled energy that creeps up to create the revered and often terrifying "Kundalini rising" experience that many seek but few successfully integrate IS Kaali. She is where misunderstood and untamed astral forces enter our bodies and minds. Kaali's energy is a neutral one, but when coupled with human desire, human selfishness and frailty, can easily become evil and polluted. Astral attack and energy parasites are frequent occurrence for those with Kaali harshly aspected and strong in their charts. Disciple is the key to keeping the dark Kaali from taking over. Kundalini Yoga is the traditional route taken to access this powerhouse of energy. Yoga IS discipline, so as one grows in discipline, one grows in ability to successfully handle the possibly ensuing rise of the coiled snake of Kundalini energy. What of those who do not prepare for or even ask for this experience? That does happen. There are people among us in mental, emotional and physical pain due to a kundalini experience that has not been integrated or even remotely understood. Kaali is the dark goddess after all, and meeting and assimilating her is possible only after we have met and accepted our own darkness in ourself. The rising of kundalini must be met with a rise in self discipline, lest the energy run rampant and unchecked, leading to nerve blowouts, neurological problems, insatiable sexual desire, or mental imbalance.
Kaali often denies those she loves what they desire most. There is method behind this madness. In a state of lack, one has the ability to reflect on what it is they are really about, discern what is most important and focus. The material world is a distraction. Kaali asks that one's eye be kept on the prize; that of eternal wisdom.
Any planet or point in aspect to asteroid Kaali is typically super charged. Much like a battery pack, this asteroid amps up the wattage of whatever it looks at, especially in conjunction, square or inconjunct aspect.
People with Kaali conjunct the ascendant are in a perpetual state of astral energetic reception. Nerve problems, nervous disorders and mental conditions are often associated with this placement. Incredible ability for mastering kundalini yoga. Often report being frequently shocked by touching everyday objects.

Kaali conjunct Venus is usually positive and shows ease integrating the experiences of Kundalini into the life and psyche.
Kaali conjunct the IC is one who often does not recognize their power. I have seen people with this placement that came from a home where there was mental and emotional programming going on and thought it was normal even as adults. A very vulnerable placement. These people need to be careful about what they believe.
Kaali conjunct Mars amps up the wattage of this asteroid considerably. Enormous sex drive is associated with the square to Mars. Selfish uses of energy can be seen with this. Very strong physically but very stubborn.

Kaali conjunct the sun is one of the most tenuous placements of all. Kaali shapes and informs the personality for these people and they reek of her. Kundalini is often experienced by these people at an early age and cyclicly fights to stay even if denied. Big chance of actually having the serpent rise with Kaali conjunct the Sun. Very prone to brainwashing and mind control from others and astral forces. (onyx should be a staple of the daily wardrobe). The conjunction is the easiest to deal with. Oppositions from Kaali to the sun are intermittent energy experiences, squares indicate difficulty incorporating the energies Kaali brings and the inconjunction is about needing to consciously change subdue the ego in order to bring the correct conditions about to experience a full and proper Kundalini rise.
Kaali conjunct Saturn is about karma concerning the energies of Kaali. Typically, there is not a great deal of untamed energy here and this contact is often seen in the charts of those who report feeling out of control or who were violent towards others in past lives. Heavy karma here. The square is the most difficult to manage and brings with it a pervasive sense of guilt stemming from cruelty in the past.
Kaali conjunct Uranus is about radical insight and intuition and quick bursts of kundalini energy, though assimilation may not occur. Sudden and often likely energetic awakenings. I have seen this conjunction in the charts of two people who were both struck by lightning. (Not related incidents)
Kaali conjunct Neptune is an interesting mix. The dark feminine destructor meets the planet of dreams and wish full thinking. These people often have no sustaining physical energy. Dreams are prophetic and terrifying but have key information embedded in them that can benefit many. Many ascension symptoms with a kundalini rise. These people often feel abjectly insane during the height of the energy snake uncoiling.
Pluto in conjunction to Kaali brings incredible will and drive. Very hard to deter these people. Possibility of leading many into destruction or rebirth into something greater. The square shows past issues with using ones power improperly. Sexual and sexy. Can show one who is prone to abusing others through sexuality ( this must be very carefully considered and not applied indiscriminately toward people with this conjunction) the square can show someone who is learning about proper ethics in this life.
Kaali with the north node is about going toward self destruction. The north node is what we are after, what fills us up. The north node of the moon is too hungry to care about much. The north node is known as the dragons head for a reason. It eats and eats and eats and never gets full. The north node is insatiable and with such an energetic asteroid feeding it, it never needs to stop to digest, it can just gorge itself on the things of Kaali. People with this placement often report feeling constantly overwhelmed, stressed, cruel, emotionally strapped, cold, and destructive to self and others. DISCIPLINE is the key to mastering this position. Hard physical labor or taxing exercise can help tremendously. Physically working out the energy of Kaali can go a long way toward keeping it from backing up inside the body and leading to chronic addiction. Many times people with this contact or the square to the nodes report needing to numb themselves so they can feel normal. The amount of energy available is off the charts. Energy healers, reiki masters and massage therapists excel at their work with this placement. Serious danger of psychic vampires and astral negativity seeping into the mind. Very vulnerable placement. A feeling of self hatred. This stems from continually letting the self down, destroying the self.
The south node in conjunction with asteroid Kaali is a very spiritual and typically positive placement. Indicates a previously mastered Kundalini rising experience that carries over in positive karma in this lifetime. A Kundalini master in the past.
Lilith in conjunction, square or opposition with Kaali is about the sexuality being the main avenue of the potential rise. Tantric sex and sexual psychic linking are more easily accomplished. The conjunction can show one who is sexually free and uninhibited. The square can show a sexual nature with an abusive element to it.
Kaali with astroid Karma is about what we are owed or owe others. Many with this placement are destined to experience the surge that is Kundalini rising. Like the South node, these people are typically experienced in handling this energy and have mastered it in the past, and they are asked to do again in the present. Kundalini teachers and yoga instructors, teachers of esoteric subjects, those who lead others to understand the personality and character of Kaali often have this placement. High chance of brain washing and being taken advantage of emotionally, as well. Many have been emotionally abused with Kaali conjunct, square or opposite to Karma.
